Here’s some insight as to who they are and what their responsibilities include.

Architectural Control Committee

The Architectural Control Committee is comprised of Homeowner volunteers. They are responsible for reviewing applications for alterations to the exterior of a unit, such as decks, windows, and doors, so as to keep the architectural appearance of Sky Harbour as pristine as possible. The committee welcomes new members as openings become available. If you are interested, please attend the next board meeting.  Board meetings are held on the third Tuesday of the month at the Community Clubhouse starting at 7:00 p.m.

See the ARC Section for additional details and forms.

Budget & Finance Committee

The Budget & Finance Committee is appointed by and serves at the pleasure of the Board of Directors. The committee consists of three or more members. According to the By-Laws, The Association’s Chief Financial Officer (C.F.O) or Treasurer is an automatic member of the B&F committee.

The Committee’s responsibilities include:

  • Reviewing financial statements from the Association’s bookkeeper and the financial highlights document from the Office Manager monthly.
  • Analyze and advise the Board of Directors as to action on all bid projects and substantial outright purchases.
  • Along with the committee, draft and present the operating budget for each upcoming fiscal year.
  • Along with the committee, review and present the reserve budget.
  • Along with the president, reviews insurance proposals yearly and proposes the best combination of price and coverage for the Board of Directors to consider and approve.

The committee welcomes new members as openings become available. If you are interested, please attend the next board meeting.  Board meetings are held on the third Tuesday of the month at the Community Clubhouse starting at 7:00 p.m.

Maintenance  Committee

The Maintenance Committee is comprised of one SHHOA Board Member and Homeowner volunteers.  The Maintenance Committee shall advise the Board of Directors on all matters pertaining to the maintenance, repair or improvement of the Common Properties, including the entry landscaping, irrigation and lighting, and the boat ramp and dock, and shall perform such other functions as the Board determines.

The committee welcomes new members as openings become available. If you are interested, please attend the next board meeting.  Board meetings are held on the third Tuesday of the month at the Community Clubhouse starting at 7:00 p.m.

Parks & Recreation Committee

The Parks & Recreation Committee is made up of a group of volunteer homeowners who are dedicated to the quality and security of the Association’s three swimming pools.

They provide regular inspections of the pools to assure that the surroundings and restrooms are clean and properly equipped. They also watch for trespassers, vandals, misbehavior and/or improper use of the pools. Safety is a primary concern.

During the swimming season, committee members regularly visit the pools night and day. They can be identified by a red tag worn around their necks, necklace style, stating “POOL COMMITTEE.” New members are always welcome.

The Pool Committee reports to the Board of Directors and/or the SHHOA President when the situation requires immediate attention.

Trespassing and vandalism should be immediately reported to the Hood County Sheriffs Department. Wristbands for a minimal fee are required to enter the pool (seasonal).  If you do not have a pool wristband or you have lost yours, please contact the office for a new one (fee required).

The committee welcomes new members as openings become available. If you are interested, please attend the next board meeting.  Board meetings are held on the third Tuesday of the month at the Community Clubhouse starting at 7:00 p.m.

Neighborhood Watch Committee

Neighborhood Watch is one of the most effective ways to prevent crime and help revitalize our community. It is a crime prevention program which enlists the active participation of residents here at Sky Harbour in cooperation with law enforcement to reduce crime.

The program involves neighbors getting to know each other, learning how to work together, and residents recognizing and reporting suspicious activity in their neighborhoods. The extra “eyes and ears” of aware neighbors will help catch the criminals.

Here at Sky Harbour, each street or cul-de sac has a coordinator that keeps an updated list of residents and contact information. They are also responsible for delivering the Newsletter and other Association information when warranted.

The committee welcomes new members as openings become available. If you are interested, please attend the next board meeting.  Board meetings are held on the third Tuesday of the month at the Community Clubhouse starting at 7:00 p.m.

Compliance Committee

It is the responsibility of the Compliance Committee to ensure that Sky Harbour owners comply with the rules established in the CC&Rs, By-Laws,  and Policies and Procedures.   And, the Committee periodically reviews all homes for compliance.

We appreciate your efforts to comply with the rules and regulations, which make SHHOA such an attractive place to live.
